Get the most out of your boudoir photoshoot
with our handy prep guide
Six step guide
01
When to book
It is always best to book your shoot at least a few weeks in advance. Last minute bookings are of course welcome, however to get the most out of your shoot you are going to want to ensure you have the kind of garments you have in mind ready. If you’re going to use your images to mark a special occasion then this is especially important, as your viewing appointment can take up to ten days after the shoot and if you’re looking to create an album you need to give this time also.
02
Hair & Make up
You can of course book your preferred hair and makeup artist, but how you do your own for a night out is more than fine. Ideally, you should have:
Hair down with big loose waves/curls
Make-up that is a bold version of how you would normally have it. You don’t need to make you look like anyone other than yourself.
03
Wardrobe / Styling
For this type of shoot we recommend having 2 or 3 undergarments of your choosing in your preferred colours. We have a few pieces of body wear in the studio which you are very welcome to use, as well as long wraps to drape around you. For bridal themed shoots, please bring a couple of pieces you’re planning to wear on your big day such as veil and jewellery.
TANNING: It is understandable you’ll want to feel radiant and glowing for your shoot! However, tan lines prove quite difficult to work with, whether they be from fake tan or the sun. The lighting in our studio is quite warm, as is my editing process, so a gentle glow will naturally come through in your final edited images anyway.
04
Day before the shoot
Ensure you stay hydrated and avoid food that can make you bloated. Do some light stretches if you can, the poses we use are gentle but people have said it can be a little bit of a workout! 🙂
05
Day of the shoot
Wear loose clothing to the studio. If possible, don’t wear a bra and socks as these can leave indentations that can be hard to remove.
06
After the shoot
After the photoshoot your images will be ready 7-10 days later. A date for your viewing appointment will be made at the photoshoot. When you arrive at your viewing appointment you will have up to 15 beautifully taken, edited and printed photos to look through. You can choose to purchase these printed photos with their matching digital copy, or choose to build a bespoke album.
